This department is in place to directly assist anyone who is looking to start up or relocate a business to Vegreville. The Economic Development department is there to provide advice and direction as well as help with finding a great location for your business. This could include an existing location, serviced land, or even raw land.

Vegreville Planning and Development

Vegreville's Business License Bylaw 05-19 requires businesses to hold a valid Business Licence when conducting business within the boundaries of the Town of Vegreville. The Planning and Development department is in place to assist you with acquiring all required licensing, permits, and approvals needed to start your business.


Vegreville & District Chamber of Commerce

The Vegreville & District Chamber of Commerce is there to help businesses with advice, support in the form of a number of business programs and a forum to network with other Vegreville businesses.


Elk Island Community Futures

This organization is a government organization that was established for the sole purpose of helping people to start up businesses. It can lend up to $150,000 to companies to help with start-up, as well as assistance with business plans, marketing plans, succession planning, bookkeeping training, and more.

This nonprofit organization is working with the provincial and federal governments to help navigate the steps towards starting, running, and growing your business. They offer several services such as market research, networking opportunities, succession planning, and specialized support for Indigenous and immigrant entrepreneurs. 


Alberta Women Entrepreneurs

AWE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enabling women to build successful businesses. They provide assistance to women in all stages of business through advising, financing, mentoring, and network development.

Through digital programs and flagship events, Startup Canada is the network promoting, inspiring, educating, connecting, and giving a voice to Canada’s entrepreneurs; supporting them to start, operate, and scale businesses that build a better Canada for the world today and for future generations.

Futurpreneur

The only national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentoring, and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. Over 3,000 business owners all over Canada are volunteering through Futupreneur to mentor those looking to start their own businesses. 


Northeast Alberta Information HUB  (Alberta HUB)

The Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA) of Northeast Alberta. Alberta HUB provides regional site selection information and increases the awareness of our region as the place to invest, grow, and live.
